  • Parents may NOT park or drop-off students in front of the building.

Dismissal Procedures

An adult must be present for a student to leave the building as a Walker.
If you want your student to walk home, without an adult present, a walker waiver must be on file in the front office.

  • Walkers will be dismissed at 2:55PM, to avoid students crossing the street while busses are leaving.

    • Walkers are dismissed a few minutes earlier than everyone else to help avoid students having to cross the street while buses are leaving.

  • Walkers will exit the building through DOOR #6 (Double Doors facing Barth Ave.).

  • Walkers will cross Barth Ave., at the crosswalk, and proceed to walk to the adult waiting to pick them up.

  • Students with a Walker Waiver on file, in the front office, will be allowed to walk home without an adult present.

    • Students will only be allowed to walk home if the location is within .5 miles of the school.

    • Due to safety concerns for other walkers and bus riders, cars should NOT drive down Barth Ave., or park in front of the building, between the hours of 2:30PM - 3:30PM.

  • If attempting to find a legal parking spot on the street, please ensure there is adequate distance between the vehicle and stop sign.

    • Indiana Code 9-21-16-5 states that a vehicle must not be parked within 30 feet of a stop sign. This regulation helps ensure visibility and safety at intersections.
