Here the boys are reusing popsicle sticks to make bird feeders.

The Salvation Army Indiana Division has been providing Christmas assistance to the community for generations. This year with Angel Tree for 2018, they will be providing both vital needs and a joyful Christmas to children in families who qualify.
Is my family eligible for assistance?
Registration opens for Christmas on October 22nd. Angel Tree is designed to help families whose income falls below the 2018 United States Poverty Guidelines. The qualified income level is dependent upon the number of persons in your household, so visit aspe.hhs.gov/poverty-guidelines to determine whether your family qualifies. If you are already planning to apply for Christmas assistance from another agency or organization, please do not apply for Angel Tree, too. Our goal is to ensure that as many central Indiana children as possible are able to have a special Christmas.
Which of my children are eligible for Angel Tree?
Children ages 0-12 who are residents of Marion, Hamilton, and Johnson County Indiana, are eligible for assistance through the Angel Tree program.
When can I sign up for Assistance?
Angel Tree applications take place from October 22nd through November 2nd.
Where can I sign up for Assistance?
There are two Indianapolis locations where applicants can sign up. The times for visiting these locations is Monday - Friday from 9:00am-4:00pm. Thursday, 9:00am-4:00pm & 6:00pm-8:00pm. Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm.
• The Salvation Army Fountain Square Corps Community Center at 1337 S. Shelby Street.
• The Salvation Army Eagle Creek Corps Community Center at 4400 N. High School Road.
What items must I bring with me in order to apply for Angel Tree assistance?
All applicants must bring the following with them on the day they apply. Applications cannot be processed without these items.
• Valid form of photo ID for applicant (examples: U.S. Driver’s License, U.S. Passport, Indiana State ID, School ID, Green Card, etc.)
• Proof of residence (examples: utility bill, bank statement, etc.); must be within the last month before registering.
• Proof of ALL income, earned and unearned (includes: check stubs, unemployment, SSI, pensions, veteran benefits, disability, SNAP, child support, TANF/AFDC, WIC, etc.); documents MUST have a dollar amount on them, as we cannot accept a SNAP card or appointment letter; SNAP cannot be your only form of income.

Fall Break Starts Thursday at 1:15PM and School Resumes Monday, October 22nd!

The Indy Eleven soccer supporters group, Slaughterhouse-19 (SH-19), helped us make our goal towards helping us feed the families of SENSE with a mammoth food drive at this Saturday’s game. Pablo Rodriquez is responsible for this act of kindness and generosity by hosting a tailgate where participants donated food and hygiene items. The result filled an SUV with much-needed items.
Pictured here is Betzi Hernandez and her son Diego Fuentes. And yes, they were as happy as they look to receive this generous donation. They helped to bring in the donated items into our pantry on Saturday and assisted in getting it shelved. Ms. Hernandez is the new SENSE art teacher. Her son Diego attends SENSE in the 4th grade.
Indy Eleven is an American professional team based in Indianapolis. The franchise plays its home games at Lucas Oil Stadium, with long-term plans of a new stadium in the city's downtown district. A heartfelt thank you to SH-19!

A team of Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance employees spent the morning volunteering at SENSE as part of the company’s IFBI Community program.
Within a few hours the team transformed SENSE Charter. They worked on organizing storage closets, including the clothing and food pantries. They brought school supplies, food and hygiene items to donate to the school as well. The team put together shelving that they donated for better access to items. They weeded our grounds and created a study ramp for the garden area stairway, making it much easier to lead and unload.
And if that wasn’t enough, they donated a new refrigerator to our food pantry. Wow. So needed. So appreciated

Don't forget!! Family Game Night, for kindergarten through fourth grade, will take place tomorrow Wednesday, September 26th.

We hope to see you all here!
